This year’s show includes the first concept garden from famous department store, Harrods. The Fragrance Garden designed by Sheena Seeks is a celebration of fragrance through flowers. There is also a perfumed theme from L’Occitane, with their A Perfumer’s Garden in Grasse, which reflects the renaissance of the perfume industry in the French town. Another highlight is the inaugural garden from charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer, which draws on inspiration from the genetic research and breakthroughs in the treatment of the illness. The garden, based around a DNA double helix shape, is created by award-winning designer Ruth Willmott, who lost her sister-in-law to breast cancer last year. Rural traditions are also honoured at this year’s show. A Trugmaker’s Garden, designed by Serena Fremantle and Tina Vallis, pays homage to Sussex trugmakers who are keeping alive the skills in making the hand-woven baskets. Alongside the gardens, you’ll find a host of retailers who are returning with their garden goodies, outdoor products and green-fingered advice.
